Kindergarten Mathematics in Spanish is designed to give students a solid foundation in math concepts. Students learn the content through a combination of teacher instruction (in person or via video within the course) and individual practice, both online and offline. The teacher's instruction helps students by using online resources, such as virtual manipulatives, videos that demonstrate ideas using physical manipulatives, and videos that teach ideas with songs. During individual practice, students solve problems online, often using virtual manipulatives, and also offline in a workbook. The Kindergarten Mathematics curriculum begins with a focus on numbers and counting. This helps students understand addition and subtraction. Throughout the course, students also explore math concepts they see in the world, such as clocks and calendars, position and patterns, subitization, shapes, measurable attributes, and money. This course requires the following household materials:

  • Coins: penny, nickel, dime, quarter
  • Crayons, markers, or colored pencils
  • Glue
  • Safety scissors with rounded tips.

  • monedas: penny, nickel, dime, quarter
  • crayones, marcadores o lápices de colores
  • pegamento
  • tijeras, de seguridad de extremo redondo
