World History is a comprehensive course that explores human history from prehistoric times through the modern era. Students focus in depth on the developments and events that have shaped civilizations across time.

The course is organized chronologically and, within broad eras, regionally. Lessons examine key developments in religion, philosophy, the arts, science and technology, and political history.

Geography concepts are introduced within the context of the historical narrative. Online lessons and assessments complement World History: Our Human Story, a textbook written and published by K12.

Students are challenged to explore topics in depth and from multiple perspectives as they analyze primary sources and maps and complete projects. They practice historical thinking and writing skills while examining the broad themes and big ideas of human history.
