1st Grade Fitness and Health
1st Grade Fitness and Health introduces students to the basics of how their bodies grow and function. The course covers health resources and explores how media can influence health, with lessons on nutrition, healthy habits, mental health and wellness, exercise and activity, injury and violence prevention, and safety.
Students engage in fitness activities in every lesson, practicing fundamental movement patterns such as balancing, cross-lateral movements, and sequencing skills. They develop spatial and body awareness and learn how food and energy are connected.
Students also learn about communicating feelings, taking personal responsibility, and understanding the importance of lifetime wellness.
