Apprentice 3 is a full-year elementary music course taught by experienced music educator Miss Linda McCarty. Designed for students continuing from Apprentice 2 or older elementary beginners, the course builds foundational music skills through singing, rhythm activities, movement, listening, and hands-on music making.

Lessons are self-paced and typically 15–25 minutes long, making it easy for families to fit music into their homeschool schedule.

Throughout the course, students explore:

About the Teacher & Materials

Miss Linda McCarty is a certified music educator with over 25 years of classroom teaching experience in public and private schools. She is Kodály and Orff-Schulwerk certified and holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music education.

Recommended materials:

  • rhythm sticks
  • hand drum or bucket drum
  • small glockenspiel or xylophone

Most materials are inexpensive and optional alternatives can often be found at home.
