Apprentice 3 - 2nd/3rd Grade Music Course
Help your child continue building real music skills through engaging, step-by-step lessons that develop confidence, creativity, and music literacy.
Apprentice 3 is a full-year elementary music course taught by experienced music educator Miss Linda McCarty. Designed for students continuing from Apprentice 2 or older elementary beginners, the course builds foundational music skills through singing, rhythm activities, movement, listening, and hands-on music making.
Lessons are self-paced and typically 15–25 minutes long, making it easy for families to fit music into their homeschool schedule.
Throughout the course, students explore:
- singing and pitch development
- rhythm and meter
- solfege and hand signs
- reading music on the staff
- pentatonic melody and composition
- movement and creative expression
- percussion instruments and mallet technique
- listening and responding to music
The carefully sequenced lessons help students strengthen music literacy skills while preparing for continued musical growth, private lessons, choir, band, or future instrumental study.
